If you're like me, you buy a lot of games. You may not spend a ton of money on them, but you get sucked into the Steam sales and Humble Bundles and generally find it hard to turn down a 50 cent game that doesn't look like it's going to make your brain bleed. However, often those games end up sitting around and never getting played; in some instances they never even get installed!
I decided that I want to change that and I want to bring you all along for the ride. Thus Backlog Blitz was born. The plan is to play each of these under-appreciated games one by one for two hours straight, record and commentate the gameplay, and then write a review based on those two hours of gameplay.
At this point, you may have a few questions.
What does it take to make it in the "backlog"? Are games immediately placed there after purchase?
Since each of the games will be played for two hours, it made sense for a previous total play time of less than two hours to be the barrier for entry. So, any game that has been played for less than two hours is fair game. Since I'll sometimes buy a game I really want to play and then not get around to actually playing it for a week or two, I decided that games do not qualify for the backlog unless they have been owned for at least a month. So in summary: if they've been owned for over a month and had less than two hours of total time played, they qualify for The Blitz.
Can we request that you play something? How do we know what is in the pipeline?
Absolutely! Requests are awesome, especially because they typically mean that the games are going to be fun. Head on over to the Current Backlog page and leave a comment.
You've played so many games! How can we find a particular review without clicking through the chronological post list?
My goal is that some day this will be a legitimate issue. For just such an occasion I have created the Completed Backlog page. This has an alphabetical list of all of the games I've reviewed and links to those reviews.
